Father of Family Murdered in Pemsashen Speaks: "Vruyr Told Arkadi, 'You Were With Me'"
Vruyr and Arkadi confronted each other, during which Vruyr allegedly told Arkadi, 'You were with me.' This is not new; it has happened before, but there will be another confrontation. This was stated to MediaHub.am today by Sevak Meliksetyan, the father of the family brutally murdered in Pemsashen.
In response to the media's observation that Arkadi Barsenyans's lawyer, Vladimir Minasyan, had previously claimed to have requested a confrontation, but it had not happened, Sevak Meliksetyan replied, 'He is lying! I don’t know why he is trying to hide this fact, but he is lying. The investigation is proceeding normally, it is going its course.'
When asked if security is still being maintained in front of the Barsenyans' house, he replied, 'Yes. The question is not just about me; I am not planning to do anything, but it's not just me in the village, the villagers’ attitude has not changed either.'
It is recalled that in the Pemsashen community of Shirak Province, on November 9, 31-year-old Zarine Meliksetyan and her two minor children were brutally murdered, with relatives Arkadi and Vruyr Barsenyans accused of the crime. The murder investigation is still in the preliminary investigation phase.
On November 12, Vruyr Barsenyans, a 32-year-old resident of Shirak Province, was arrested on suspicion of murder after confessing to the police, stating that on the day of the murder, he was with his 36-year-old relative Arkadi Barsenyans. However, the latter does not admit guilt; his lawyer told MediaHub that it can be easily proven that his client was elsewhere that day.
It is also noted that in January, a decision was made to extend the detention of Vruyr and Arkadi Barsenyans for two more months.
