Ruben Vardanyan's Relocation to Artsakh Disturbs the Leader of the Caucasus Muslims
The leader of the Caucasus Muslims, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, stated that during his visit to Moscow, he discussed Ruben Vardanyan's decision to relocate to Nagorno-Karabakh with the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill.
“In my conversation with Patriarch Kirill, I said it is unfortunate that a new person has arrived in Khankendi (Stepanakert) from Moscow, and he is calling on the people there for revanchism, while the leader of the Armenian Church supports all this,” Pashazadeh told the APA agency.
The Muslim leader referred to Azerbaijan as the “winner” in the interview, while also calling on the Supreme Patriarch of All Armenians to adopt a position of peace. “Unfortunately, the manifestations of revanchism by Armenia do not fade,” Pashazadeh reiterated the claims of Azerbaijan's political leadership, saying.
Last month, Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev publicly criticized Russia, insisting that they would not negotiate with “Ruben Vardanyan sent from Moscow.”
