Liz Truss Surprised Friends with Messages Sent the Night Before Resignation

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss, sent messages to her friends the night before announcing her resignation, according to the Daily Mail.

According to the publication, close friends of Truss were informed that she was preparing to step down after they received messages from her early in the morning. The Prime Minister messaged her friends late into the night following a chaotic day in Westminster, after she had fired her Home Secretary, Suella Braverman.

Truss announced her resignation the next day. "Sending messages to people at 4 a.m. is a bad sign, and at that moment she seemed to realize that everything was probably over," the source said.

On the morning of October 21, Truss was seen hurriedly entering her residence. Smiling, she passed through the doors of Downing Street to begin her last week as Prime Minister. As is known, on October 20, Truss announced that she was stepping down, stating that she could not fulfill the mandate that the Conservative Party had entrusted her with upon her appointment.
