Iran Opposes Foreign Presence in Azerbaijan and Armenia, Says Abdollahian
Iran is opposed to the presence of foreigners in both Azerbaijan and Armenia in this region. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian after arriving in Yerevan, as reported by Mehr. He arrived in Yerevan leading a political and parliamentary delegation.
"We expect long-term cooperation between the two countries, and a document will be drafted during this visit. We oppose the presence of foreigners in this region, both in Azerbaijan and in Armenia," he added.
He expressed satisfaction with the volume of trade between Iran and Armenia, which has increased by more than 43 percent compared to last year.
Amir Abdollahian is in Yerevan at the invitation of his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan. He will meet with several Armenian officials, including Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Tomorrow, the foreign ministers of Iran and Armenia will attend the opening ceremony of the Iranian Consulate in Kapan.
