Emergency Situation in Ararat Region: Drinking Water Has Been Flowing Unabated for 2 Hours, Flooding the Entire Road

An emergency situation has been established in the Ararat region for the past 2 hours. A malfunction occurred at the drinking water distribution pump station, operational since Soviet times, located at the beginning of the Darakert village. As a result, drinking water has been flowing uncontrollably and has inundated the entire road.

Local residents, in conversation with photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, stated: “We have called the ‘Veolia Water’ hotline several times. We saw that we were not getting any results, so we called 9-1-1, and probably thanks to the quick response of the emergency services, the team from ‘Veolia Water’ arrived.”

The photojournalist reports that specialists from the rapid response team of ‘Veolia Water’ have arrived, who have already closed off the supply section and are waiting for the water in the pipes to drain before starting repairs on the damaged pipeline. ‘Veolia Water’ employees stated that they are doing everything possible to resolve the issue in a short time to prevent any disruption to water supply in Yerevan.
