Major Car Accident in Syunik Region: 18-Year-Old Driver Rolls 100 Meters into a Gorge in Mitsubishi Pajero io

Today, on June 16, a major car accident occurred in the Syunik region. At approximately 13:10, 18-year-old Hrachya S. from Syunik was driving a Mitsubishi Pajero io when he veered off the road on the 50th kilometer of the Meghri-Yerevan highway, rolling around 100 meters and ending up in a gorge.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, Hrachya S. and his passenger, 18-year-old Arsen D. who is also a resident of Syunik, sustained injuries and were taken to the “Kajaran” medical center.

A firefighting and rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived promptly at the scene. The firefighters disconnected the vehicle's battery and secured the area.
