Zelensky Promises Gift for Ukrainians Over 60 Vaccinated Against COVID-19
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised during the Diia Summit forum that Ukrainians aged 60 and over who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 will receive a modern smartphone, as reported by vz.ru.
“Two years ago we started digital literacy courses for seniors, and in the spring we will launch a new comprehensive government program. All vaccinated Ukrainians over the age of 60 who wish to will receive a free high-quality modern smartphone and a preferential rate,” said the President.
It is worth noting that Zelensky has already signed a law mandating a payment of one thousand hryvnias (approximately $37) to all citizens of Ukraine over the age of 18 who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, along with an additional 500 hryvnias for those who received the booster dose. This money cannot be withdrawn as cash and can only be spent on a specific range of services, such as domestic tourism, gym visits, theater outings, or book purchases.
