Brutal Murder in Kapan: Woman's Body Found at Home, Suspect is Her Son
On December 13, a particularly brutal murder occurred in the Syunik region. At approximately 18:50, the Kapan police received a report that there was a body in an apartment on M. Stepanyan Street in Kapan.
According to shamshyan.com, the head of the Syunik regional police, Alik Mamikonyan, the prosecutor of Syunik, Eduard Harutyunyan, and the head of the Syunik regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Sargsyan, arrived at the scene.
Police officers and investigators found the body of 67-year-old Silva Davtyan, a resident of the apartment, showing evident signs of violence. While the forensic expert examined the body, the police and investigators from the Syunik region carried out necessary operational and investigative actions, resulting in the apprehension of 42-year-old Gevorg G., a resident of the same apartment, on suspicion of committing the murder.
Gevorg G. was presented to the Syunik regional investigative department from the Kapan police, where he was arrested by senior investigator Sargsyan, based on the characteristics of Article 104 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. According to sources, Gevorg G. is the son of the deceased and has a previous conviction.
