57-Year-Old Woman Brutally Beaten in Tavush Province, Later Dies

The Investigation Committee of Armenia has launched a criminal case under Article 112, Part 2, Clause 14 of the Criminal Code (causing serious harm to health intentionally, resulting in the death of the victim by negligence) following the death of 57-year-old N.R., a resident of Tavush Province.

According to Shamshyan.com, the case was initiated based on the report of N.R.'s death. On November 4, around 14:10, the Noemberyan division of the police received a call from one of the medical centers in Tavush Province, stating that N.R. had been brought in with a diagnosis of "cerebral trauma and comatose state." The police and investigators determined that on the same day, a relative had found N.R. unconscious in her home, in bed.

It was reported that on November 5, the hospital informed the Noemberyan police that N.R. had died without regaining consciousness. Authorities identified a suspect and subsequently located him in Tavush Province. The suspect was taken in for questioning at the Noemberyan police department, where, under pressure of facts, he confessed to having struck and injured the deceased.

Following this confession, 39-year-old suspect G.K. was presented to the investigation department of Tavush Province's investigative administration, where he was arrested by the investigator's decision. According to photoreporters, a stolen mobile phone and charger belonging to the deceased were found in his possession, and there were blood-like traces on his shirt, which are suspected to be N.R.'s blood.
