On the evening of October 24, an official reception was organized at the Presidential Residence in honor of the participants of the "Armenian Ideas Summit" on behalf of Armen Sarkissian. Today, images from the reception were published by the presidential office, and what do we see? High-ranking officials, who tirelessly advocate for the observance of anti-epidemic rules and shout about the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and the ongoing tension of the epidemic situation, attended the reception without masks and maintaining social distance.

Notably, in the front row was Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan, also without a mask. Among the officials, perhaps standing out as a pioneer of social responsibility was Minister of High-Tech Industry Vahagn Khachaturyan, who was one of the few attendees wearing a mask.

It should be noted that over the past few days, more than 30 deaths have been registered due to the coronavirus, hospitals across the republic are operating under extreme overload, the bed capacity is being exhausted, and today discussions are underway about extending school holidays and organizing remote classes in universities.

It is noteworthy that since yesterday, a large public debate has been ongoing on the internet regarding a mass event organized for the 2nd anniversary of "Megamall," held without mask-wearing or social distancing. In the case of "Megamall," the "persons charged" are ordinary citizens and well-known entrepreneurs, while in the case of the presidential office, the participants of the ideas summit are implicated.
