VIDEO: Cameras Capture Gunfire from Azerbaijanis
The National Security Service of the Republic of Artsakh has issued a statement declaring, "The Azerbaijani side continues provocations and actions that violate the agreements reached in the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020. Starting from early October 2020, the Azerbaijani side has deliberately allowed the violation of the conditions agreed upon by the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of the Russian Federation, and the President of Azerbaijan through the trilateral statement, and has been carrying out provocative actions at various sections of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line.
These actions began with the killing of a civilian in the city of Martakert and have continued at different segments of the contact line. While previously the gunfire often served warning purposes and was not directed at Armenian soldiers, recently there has been a drastic change in the direction of fire, now targeting human lives.
Yesterday, the Azerbaijani position located near the village of Nor Shen in the Martuni region subjected the nearby Armenian position, established to protect the peaceful residents of that village, to targeted shelling. The direct gunfire was so blatant that it was recorded by the cameras installed on the Armenian side (the video is attached). This video not only proves the adversary’s provocative behavior but also clearly indicates that the Armenian side adheres to the high-level agreements reached and poses no threat to Azerbaijani military personnel.
At the same time, we again urge and call for refraining from disseminating unverified, incomplete, or completely inaccurate information related to incidents at the Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line through phone calls, which is an unacceptable and illogical approach. It is necessary to understand the simple truth that any false or misleading information is a direct blow to the safety of the peaceful residents of our border settlements, impacts their mental health, and contributes to panic and potentially more dangerous consequences."
