Significant Revelations in the Ministry of Defense: What Food Suppliers Have Announced for Soldiers

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that on August 20, the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Arshak Karapetyan, met with representatives of organizations providing food preparation and preservation services on behalf of the defense agency. During the meeting, officials from the rear department of the Armenian Armed Forces and the military police presented violations recorded during inspections, noting that in some cases, the quality of food and services provided in military units did not meet the requirements outlined in the contracts with the organizations.

The Minister of Defense harshly criticized the organizations that committed violations in the preparation and preservation of food for military personnel and instructed them to fully eliminate all recorded deficiencies within a reasonable timeframe.

However, this announcement has deep roots. While the Ministry of Defense blames the suppliers, the law enforcement system has initiated a criminal case regarding the negligent activities of the suppliers and is making significant revelations. The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" learned from informed sources that law enforcement has summoned suppliers for questioning, and they have explained that a competition was announced, they participated in it, and the products they presented to the Armed Forces commission were delivered to the military. This means that if the supplied products were poor, the commission should not have accepted them.

So why did the commission accept them? Either an influential call was made from the Armed Forces, or there were no experts who understood the matter. Of course, the second option is likely excluded. Law enforcement officials did not find the statements of the Armed Forces commission members credible and identified corruption risks in the activities of companies supplying food or other items to the military and the members of the commission.

Incidentally, this revelation has also been reported to the Ministry of Defense, suggesting that significant disclosures are expected in the ministry in the near future. As for who the suppliers are, we will find out soon.
