A New Program Launched to Prevent the Spread of Animal Diseases
A new program in the field of veterinary medicine will be implemented in Armenia. The information was provided by the press service of the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia.
According to the announcement, the head of the inspection body, Gevorg Avetisyan, and Eran Raizman, Senior Inspector for Animal Health and Production at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, discussed via video conference the program for controlling bacterial and parasitic diseases in slaughterhouses and animal markets in Armenia.
“An agreement was reached between the parties to start the program in September this year and complete it by the end of the year,” the statement said. As a result of the work, a guideline for improving the operations of animal markets and slaughterhouses is expected to be developed. It will contribute to the prevention of the spread of animal diseases.
