Negotiations Between Armenia and Azerbaijan Assigned to Muradov: 'Zhoghovurd'
'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports that negotiations, which started after the Azerbaijani incursion into the Syunik and Gegharkunik regions, will continue today. Boris Avagyan, former representative of the President of the Republic of Artsakh for special assignments, emphasized in an interview with 'Zhoghovurd' that the Armenian side has lost the best opportunity for negotiations. 'We should have either detained, captured, or eliminated those who dared to cross the state border of Armenia on the very first day. If we allow those who have crossed the state border to not be arrested on the same day, we endanger our own property,' he noted.
According to Boris Avagyan, the Prosecutor's Office must answer many questions. 'This should be investigated within the framework of the criminal case initiated by the Prosecutor General's Office after my statement that a criminal case should be opened for illegally crossing the state border,' he added.
When asked why negotiations are being conducted under the leadership of Russian peacekeeping forces commander Rustam Muradov, Boris Avagyan pointed out, 'Rustam Muradov is the first deputy commander of the military district of the Russian Federation. The Southern Military District of Russia stretches from Rostov to Syria, and the 102nd military base is also part of that district. As the leader of the peacekeeping forces, he was deployed for six months, and his deployment has now been extended, but he also holds an official position. Since his superior came to Armenia, negotiated with the minister, after that, Muradov was tasked by the Russian side to represent them as a mediator in this matter.'
