Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia Are Tools for Nikol's Reproduction Plans: Mikayel Minasyan
The territory of the Republic of Armenia has been blockaded by enemy forces for six days now. This was stated by Mikayel Minasyan, the former ambassador of Armenia to the Holy See, on his Telegram channel.
“During this time, we have heard everything—from Nikol's cowardly silence to the lies of the governor of Syunik, from the confession of the minister of defense about his ineffectiveness to the ramblings of the secretary of the Security Council. However, in a parliamentary republic, there is another higher platform—the parliament. Yet the parliamentary forces are silent. If everything is clear regarding the ruling party’s ignorance, their silence, who are called parliamentary opposition, is significant. The fact is that ‘Prosperous Armenia’ (led by Gagik Tsarukyan) and ‘Bright Armenia’ (led by Edmond Marukyan) have never been real opposition parties. Let's count the facts:
- Both of these parties supported Nikol's revolution,
- Both parties participated in the usurpation of power,
- Both parties have held ministerial positions in Nikol’s parliament, some remain in power to this day,
- Both parties welcomed the holding of the 2018 elections according to Nikol’s scenario,
- Both parties did not oppose the unprecedented pressure on the courts in May 2019,
- Both parties pretended not to notice the physical violence against judges during the blockade of the courts,
- Both parties did not react to the obvious pressure and aggressive attitude towards Hrayr Tovmasyan,
- Prosperous Armenia failed to file a complaint with the Constitutional Court regarding Nikol's proposed constitutional amendments, allowing him to seize the Constitutional Court by obtaining a majority there,
- Both parties did not respond to the seizure of judicial authority with the appointment of Gagik Jhangiryan, which was favorable to Nikol, and the initiation of persecution against Ruben Vardazaryan,
- Both parties remained silent on the intervention of Nikol’s assistant Anna Vardapetyan in the investigations of criminal cases against opposition figures,
- Both parties have not spoken out about the lies concerning the dead, wounded, missing, and captured individuals,
- Both parties have not addressed the issue of embezzlement of funds from the ‘Armenia’ Foundation,
- Both parties have not attempted to create a commission to investigate the circumstances of the Third Artsakh War,
- Both parties have not tried to clarify the failures in arms acquisition (Osa-Ak, Su-30) and observed violations,
- Both parties have pretended not to notice that Ararat Mirzoyan is an agent for Turkish and Armenian intelligence services,
- Both parties are silent about the unprecedented increase in national debt,
- Both parties have not proposed serious legislation that could weaken Nikol's power,
- Both parties have conspired with Nikol to hold elections favorable for him in 2021,
- Both could have appealed to the Constitutional Court regarding Nikol's execution of the functions of Prime Minister after his resignation but did not,
- Both parties have never used the opportunity to appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding violations of civil liberties during the pandemic and martial law, mass surveillance during the pandemic, and independence of universities concerning various clear violations.
I have said multiple times that in 2018 the voter wanted to see a parliament without opposition. Opposition is necessary precisely for such cases, when it is essential to restrain the ruling scoundrels, when it is necessary to hold the government accountable for lies and theft, when it is time to fight for the homeland.
Speaking about the parliamentary opposition of the last three years, we unconsciously transform concepts. Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia are Nikol's clientele. They are tools through which Nikol is planning his reproduction.
