Armen Grigoryan Presents Current Situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani Border to CSTO Committee Chairman

The Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, made the following post on his Facebook page: "I had a phone conversation with the Secretary of the Security Council of Tajikistan, Nasrullo Mahmudzoda, who is also the Chairman of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO. During our conversation, I presented the current situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border to Nasrullo Mahmudzoda.

Nasrullo Mahmudzoda emphasized the importance of a peaceful resolution to the issue and expressed readiness to support the implementation of mechanisms within the CSTO aimed at resolving the problem. I also highlighted the upcoming meeting of the CSTO Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs scheduled for May 19 as a favorable platform for discussing this issue.

During our conversation, I stressed that the demands from the Azerbaijani side have no factual basis and emphasized the urgent and complete withdrawal of Azerbaijani armed forces from those areas. In turn, Nasrullo Mahmudzoda added that the President of Tajikistan and Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, Emomali Rahmon, has already given relevant instructions for a comprehensive discussion of this issue during the forthcoming meeting of the CSTO Ministers of Foreign Affairs."
