Armenian Armed Forces Reserve Right to Resolve Issue by Force, Says Ministry of Defense

The situation created after the provocations carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on May 12 and 13 at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border has not changed as of the evening of May 18. The situation remains relatively calm. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry of Defense emphasizes the necessity of a peaceful resolution to the issue and highly appreciates the efforts made by various countries and international organizations in this direction, taking into account their calls for a peaceful settlement.

In this regard, the negotiations that started on May 14 are still ongoing. However, in the absence of a reasonable timeline for a peaceful resolution, that is, if Azerbaijani military personnel do not return to their initial positions unconditionally, the Armenian Armed Forces reserve the right to resolve the issue through other means, including force.

Once again, we declare that any encroachment on the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia is absolutely unacceptable, and Azerbaijani military personnel must leave the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
