Cavusoglu Proposes Sending International Peacekeeping Forces to Palestine
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, speaking about the recent escalation in the Arab-Israeli conflict, stated that merely condemning Israel's actions is insufficient, and concrete steps are necessary. 'For example, sending international peacekeeping forces to Palestine,' Cavusoglu said, as reported by RIA Novosti.
He specifically suggested forming a group involving foreign ministers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries, whose main mission would be to protect the 'civilian population of Palestine.'
Turkey also intends to propose holding an extraordinary session of the UN General Assembly in response to the escalation of the Palestine-Israel conflict.
It is noteworthy that in recent days, Israeli helicopters have been periodically launching missiles toward the borders of the two neighboring states while not leaving their airspace. In the last 18 hours, more than 300 rockets have been fired from Gaza towards Israel, indicating almost continuous shelling every three minutes.
