We Must Be Prepared for Possible Negative Developments: Tigran Avinyan is in Syunik
There are currently no final results in the negotiations with the Azerbaijani side in Syunik. This was stated by Acting Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan during a conversation with reporters in Goris.
“I am confident that in one phase or another, we will reach final results because it is very clear that the Azerbaijani armed forces have crossed into the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, and we definitely want to resolve the situation peacefully,” Avinyan said.
He emphasized that regardless of the fact that Armenia is ready to conduct calm and peaceful negotiations, it must also be prepared for possible negative developments.
“We must be prepared not only to defend our sovereign territory but also to rely on the support of our allies in case of such a negative scenario. But I hope that we will not have any bad scenarios here,” he stated.
Avinyan clarified that Armenia's appeal to the CSTO is intended for such scenarios to avoid further possible escalation.
