Video: 29-Year-Old in Abovyan Attempts to Kill 18-Year-Old with Hunting Rifle

On the night of April 11, an 18-year-old young man was transported to the "Abovyan" medical center with a gunshot wound. Following a call received by the Kotayk division of the police, an operational group was dispatched to the medical facility.

It was revealed that the young man had been taken to the hospital from Republic Street. Criminal investigators, detectives, and forensic experts arrived at the scene. The area was examined, while the police of Kotayk carried out operational inquiries.

Officers from the main and regional departments of the Kotayk police were involved in the investigative actions. As a result of joint operational-investigative measures and procedures, it was established that the incident had occurred near a gas station on Republic Street. An unfounded dispute had escalated into gunfire.

The identity of the suspect was determined. The 29-year-old suspect presented himself to the police station hours after the incident as a result of explanatory conversations and confessed to firing shots at the 18-year-old from a hunting rifle registered in his name. The firearm used in the crime has been found. The pre-investigation into the attempted murder case is ongoing.
