Video: A Goravan Resident Beat His Villager, Transferred Him to the Hospital, but Claimed the Deceased Had Fallen
On March 7, shortly after midnight, the Ararat Police Department received a report from the "Vedi" medical center that a 58-year-old man had been admitted with a craniocerebral injury. An operational group dispatched to the hospital found that the man was from the village of Goravan. The injured individual was unconscious, and according to a written explanation from the 28-year-old villager who transported him to the medical facility, the injury was sustained due to a fall in one of the village's streets. Five other residents of the village confirmed the same during the preparation of materials.
However, law enforcement discovered different information days later. On the morning of March 14, a second report regarding the same incident was received by the Ararat Police Department, this time from the "Erebuni" medical center. The 58-year-old man, who had been transferred to the capital, had not regained consciousness and had passed away.
It later became clear that the villagers had concealed the actual circumstances of the incident. The 58-year-old man had been intentionally injured. A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident. Extensive investigative actions began, involving officers from the Ararat regional police department and the Vedi investigative division. The cooperation yielded positive results on March 17.
Law enforcement established that the victim had been severely injured by the 28-year-old villager from Goravan who had transported him to the hospital, while falsely assuring the police that the injury resulted from a fall. On the same day, the suspect was summoned to the Ararat police department and presented to the pre-trial body. He provided a confession.
By a ruling of the Ararat and Vayots Dzor regional court, the 28-year-old man was arrested and transferred to the "Armavir" penitentiary.
