Car Falls into Water Drain, Two Men Drown, Criminal Case Initiated

The investigative department of the Ararat regional investigative committee is conducting an inquiry into the circumstances of two men drowning in the village of Noramarg.

According to preliminary data, on March 13, 2021, around 23:00, a resident of Yerevan born in 1973 lost control of his "Vaz 21074" vehicle at the intersection of Mashtots and Koryun streets in Noramarg, leading it off the roadway and into a water drain. As a result, he and one of his passengers, a resident of the Ararat region born in 1976, died.

On March 14, 2021, a criminal case was opened in the Masis investigative division of the Ararat regional investigative committee under Article 242, part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, which addresses violations concerning traffic safety or rules governing the operation of vehicles.

Investigative and procedural actions are ongoing to clarify all circumstances surrounding the incident.
