18-Year-Old Man Wanted for Attempted Murder
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has announced that an extensive investigation has led to the identification of several circumstances surrounding an attempted murder case against a resident of Goris. The suspect is also a local resident of the city.
According to the investigation, on February 23, 2021, between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM, an 18-year-old resident of Goris had a conversation in front of a café on Gr. Tatevatsi Street with another local resident. During their conversation, an argument broke out, prompting the intervention of another bystander.
Motivated by the desire to assert his superiority, the 18-year-old, under the influence of hooligan motives, attacked the intervenor with a sharp object, inflicting serious life-threatening injuries to vital areas of the body, including the face, chest, and abdomen. However, due to circumstances beyond his control, the crime was not completed. The victim was immediately transported to the 'Goris Medical Center'.
Based on the collected evidence, a decision was made to charge the 18-year-old under Article 34-104, part 2, point 10 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia for attempted murder. A wanted notice has been issued for him, and the measure of restraint has been selected as detention. The investigation is ongoing, with various investigative and procedural actions being taken to ensure a comprehensive, complete, and objective examination of the circumstances of the case.
Notice: A suspect or accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia by a court ruling that has entered into legal force.
