Taxi Driver's Wife Injured in Murder Case: Details of the Brutal Killing in Gyumri
Details have emerged about a brutal murder in Gyumri, believed to be motivated by revenge. One of the injured individuals is the wife of the murdered taxi driver, Anush, while the other injured party is the driver's cousin, Armen. The backdrop to the killing is a fatal accident months ago involving the taxi driver's brother, whom the murderer held responsible for his sibling's death.
The incident that sparked this vendetta occurred on January 30, when a multi-vehicle collision took place in the Aragatsotn region. The accident led to the death of Emil Tamoyan, a passenger in the taxi driven by Rafik Mnatsakanyan, who had served in the military and worked in law enforcement. About two months later, Emil's brother sought revenge on the taxi driver, Rafik Mnatsakanyan, blaming him for Emil's demise.
It is noteworthy that both the victim and the assailant resided in the same neighborhood. According to reports from shamshyan.com, a murder was reported shortly after the incident in Shirak province. Around 15:20, the Shirak Regional Police received a notification about a body found in the yard of a building in the Mush 2 neighborhood of Gyumri.
The circumstances suggest that the murder was indeed a revenge act. The police reported that Vladimir Simonyan, a 74-year-old resident of Mastara village, was driving a vehicle that collided with 37-year-old Rafik Mnatsakanyan. Another vehicle involved was driven by 75-year-old Hovhannes Stepanyan from Keti village.
As a result of the accident, Emil Tamoyan, who was a resident of Gyumri and a passenger in the taxi, died while being transported to a medical center, while his father, Artush Tamoyan, suffered injuries and was taken to a medical facility in Talin before being transferred to a hospital in Yerevan. Several other individuals, including the drivers and passengers from both vehicles, were also injured and taken to hospitals.
Emil Tamoyan was a senior law enforcement officer with the Mush police department in Gyumri and was on his way to Yerevan for a prosthesis appointment after sustaining injuries in the recent war.
Authorities are currently searching for the murderer, believed to be the brother of the deceased officer, following the tragic accident that resulted in the death of the senior law enforcement officer.
