New Ministry to be Established in Artsakh

In Artsakh, it is planned to incorporate the State Emergency Service and the Police of the Republic of Artsakh into a unified entity, the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This information was provided by the press service of the National Assembly of Artsakh.

According to the representative of the President of Artsakh, Justice Minister Karen Danielyan, the main committee of the National Assembly has given a positive conclusion regarding the draft laws on amendments to the law on the State Emergency Service of the Republic of Artsakh, amendments and additions to the law on the Police, and amendments and additions to the law on service in the Police. Consequently, it is proposed to include the State Emergency Service and the Police of the Republic of Artsakh into a single structure - the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The agenda of the sitting of the Permanent Commission on State-Legal Issues of the National Assembly also included the draft law on amendments and additions to the Civil Code. The draft provides the possibility to file a petition to declare missing servicemen and other citizens as unknown absent in court, in case there is no information about the whereabouts of the serviceman or other citizen within three months due to military operations. The bill proposes to set the deadline for declaring a missing person deceased by the court to one year instead of two years following the end of military operations.

The National Assembly of Artsakh added that with the positive conclusion of the main committee, the draft laws will be included in the agenda of the extraordinary session of the National Assembly of Artsakh.
