What Does Gagik Jhangiryan's House Look Like
Gagik Jhangiryan's candidacy for the position of member of the Judicial Council has sparked considerable controversy. His years of service as a military prosecutor and his luxurious mansion located in Monuments have come under scrutiny.
Today, MP Taguhi Tovmasyan asked Jhangiryan in the National Assembly how he acquired the luxurious house in Monument. In response, Jhangiryan stated, “You probably know from the real estate market that a three-story house in the center is much more expensive, especially in 2002-2003, than what you think. Besides, that house is not even in Monument; my so-called mansion is not like a mansion at all; there are such mansions nearby that our house looks like a barn. But I’ll tell you, back then it was a garbage dump; the land that the municipality allocated to me was a dump.”
According to armdaily.am, Jhangiryan's so-called “barn” is reportedly rented out and is located near the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq.
Incidentally, Jhangiryan is mentioned in the media as one of the first and largest owners of a mansion in the Monument green areas, which, according to reports, he rents out for $20,000.
