Jhangiryan Personally Asked Tsarukyan for Support

The issue of Gagik Jhangiryan's election to the position of member of the Higher Judicial Council (BDSC) was not included in the agenda of the four-day session of the National Assembly that started yesterday. The authorities assured that the matter is 'technical' and will be presented in the coming session, along with the nomination of Sassun Khachatryan's brother, legal sciences candidate, and member of the Soros Foundation Board, Davit Khachatryan, and the voting will be organized simultaneously.

From the LHK party, it was announced yesterday that they have not yet discussed how they will vote, and most likely, they will leave it free so that Jhangiryan, who is close to Marukyan, can be elected as a member of the BDSC.

We also learned that recently Jhangiryan personally asked Gagik Tsarukyan for support, and the BHK party will also conduct a 'free' voting. Mikayel Melkumyan stated that they have not yet discussed how they will vote.

It should be noted that Jhangiryan aims to go to the BDSC to 'break' the judicial system, and by doing so, the BHK, which is most often targeted by law enforcement, is depriving itself of a guarantee against political persecution.
