Nikol Pashinyan Forms New Team: What is Beginning

Although discussions about snap parliamentary elections are circulating, they are not yet substantive, and no specific timeline has been indicated. Nevertheless, the issue of snap parliamentary elections is being widely discussed at the backstage level within the authorities.

According to the newspaper's information, the authorities are seriously preparing for early elections. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has already met with Aram Sargsyan, Gurgen Arsenyan, and a couple of other political leaders, and has proposed to Sargsyan and Arsenyan to unite and form a coalition for the elections.

According to our information, Pashinyan aims to include Arman Babajanian, the leader of the 'For the Republic' party, in that coalition. There are also attempts to incorporate the 'Enlightened Armenia' party into the coalition to ensure broad consolidation around Pashinyan, allowing them to go to the elections together.

However, as of today, it is only known that Aram Sargsyan and Gurgen Arsenyan have agreed to form an alliance with Pashinyan. Discussions are still ongoing regarding other parties. Additionally, the 'Civil Contract' party, at the directive of Prime Minister Pashinyan, has already begun meetings and discussions with its members, including in the regions.

According to our information, the Prime Minister is not personally participating in these processes. The organization of future elections has been entrusted to the CP members Suren Papikyan, Ruben Rubinyan, and Araik Harutyunyan, who will soon be joined by Eduard Aghajanyan (DJ Edon) and Romanos Petrosyan. These individuals are currently meeting with their party members, gauging sentiments, and there is also a demand to increase the number of party members. The authorities are making various promises to people, providing opportunities for some on a small or medium level, just to consolidate their support around them.

It turns out that both the government and the opposition have already started their pre-election campaigns, as 17 parties are also taking steps in this direction, touring the regions. Meanwhile, Turkey and Azerbaijan are preparing for military exercises near the Armenian border.
