Arson at 'Papa Food' Food Point Opening in Noragavit

Today, on May 28, a significant fire broke out in Yerevan. At around 03:05, the emergency situation ministry's rescue service received a report that a fire had ignited at the 'Papa Food' food point located on Noragavit 1st street.

According to shamshyan.com, it was determined that the fire destroyed the wooden cladding (approximately 4 square meters) of the first wooden booth (around 12 square meters), as well as items including two loudspeakers, one chair, one window, and one air conditioner. In the second wooden booth (about 10 square meters), a window and an air conditioner were damaged, along with approximately 1 square meter of wooden cladding. The adjacent kitchen area (around 40 square meters) also suffered damage: two square meters of the wooden structure, around 20 square meters of external cladding, two windows, one door, and four outdoor refrigerators were completely destroyed.

According to G. Shamshyan, the incident was not caused by negligence but was a deliberate act of arson, which was also recorded by surveillance cameras. The damages were estimated at around 7 million drams.

Photographic sources indicate that the opening of this food point was scheduled for today, with four people set to work there, and the number of jobs was expected to increase in the future. The operation was planned on a rental basis, with individuals having taken out loans to establish a small business. Unfortunately, the perpetrators intentionally set it on fire.
