Tragic Car Accident in Ararat Region, One Fatality

On May 26, a tragic car accident occurred in the Ararat region. According to Shamshyan.com, around 14:30, 62-year-old Hakob Martirosyan lost control of his Opel Corsa vehicle in the administrative territory of Narek village, specifically in the area known to locals as the "drivers' spring," and overturned under unclear circumstances.

Photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports that as a result of the accident, H. Martirosyan died at the scene. Emergency services, led by Grigor Poghosyan, commander of the 2nd platoon of the 1st company of the traffic police's 2nd battalion, along with Captain Karapet Harutyunyan, arrived on the site. The Ararat regional emergency situations department's firefighting and rescue squad also swiftly arrived with one operational unit.

The rescuers turned the vehicle right side up, then disabled the power and cordoned off the area, after which the deceased was transferred to the ambulance. The traffic police operational management center, under the supervision of on-duty officer Ervand Aleksanyan, informed the Artashat police department, from where an operational group arrived, led by department chief Ruben Nersisyan.

Investigative actions at the scene were managed by Norair Ayvazyan, senior investigator for particularly important cases of the Ararat regional investigative department of the investigative committee of Armenia. By the investigator's instruction, the vehicle is being moved to the special premises of the Artashat police department.
