A Decision to Suspend 823 Businesses Made by the Chief Medical Officer

As of May 25, a suspension decision has been made by the Chief Medical Officer against 823 businesses based on security violations recorded by the Health and Labor Inspectorate of Armenia. Notably, 104 suspensions were issued within a single day on May 25. Of these, 290 suspensions occurred in the last 7 days.

As part of its extensive operations during the state of emergency, around 3,870 businesses were monitored in Yerevan and regions. No violations were recorded at 1,120 of these businesses.

For comparison, while a larger number of violations were recorded a few days ago at major commercial and service facilities, in recent days, most security breaches have been noted in beauty salons, dental centers, offices, and small shops.

In the city of Sevan, amidst the restrictions and special regime due to the spread of coronavirus, the Health and Labor Inspectorate has suspended the operations of 48 businesses on May 26 alone.

The adherence to the safety rules approved by the Chief Medical Officer aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) is mandatory for all businesses. Administrative liability measures are applied in cases of violations, and these will be more severe in case of repeated violations.
