Extraordinary Incident in Aragatsotn Region: Brother Stabs Son-in-Law Over Sister's Engagement Ring
On May 26, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Ararat region. At around 4:40 AM, the police central division received a report from the Nairi Medical Center in Yerevan regarding a patient with "stabbed and cut bleeding wounds on the left side of the abdomen." According to Shamshyan.com, the police operational group headed to the hospital, where they determined that the injured individual was 24-year-old Israel A. from Yerevan.
He informed the doctors that the injuries were sustained in the parking lot of the Continental restaurant on the Yerevan-Erasakh highway while trying to prevent a car theft, during which he received knife wounds. However, it was later revealed that his account did not match reality, and he attempted to mislead law enforcement officials.
The Masis police uncovered 22-year-old Sargis G. from Yerevan, who was taken to the Masis police station on suspicion of causing bodily harm to Israel A. Under pressure from the investigation, it was established that a dispute had occurred between Sargis G. and Israel A. in the parking lot of the Continental restaurant, during which Sargis G. inflicted knife wounds on various parts of Israel A.'s body. The motive was that Israel A. had returned the engagement ring he received from Sargis G.'s sister, which led them to meet and ended with the stabbing.
The police are taking necessary measures to locate the weapon used in the crime. Materials are being prepared in connection with the incident at the Masis police station's investigative division.
