VIDEO: 28-Year-Old Arrested for Printing Fake Currency

Thanks to the measures taken by the criminal investigators and patrol officers of the Vanadzor city police department, it was revealed that a 28-year-old resident of Vanadzor had made purchases at grocery stores and a pharmacy a few days ago, paying with counterfeit banknotes with a nominal value of 20,000 drams.

Further actions uncovered additional information that the individual had attempted to pay with a fake banknote at another store. A criminal case was initiated, and police and investigative committee employees searched the suspect's residence, discovering 12 counterfeit banknotes with a nominal value of 20,000 drams. The 28-year-old was brought to the Basum police department, presented to the territorial investigative department, and subsequently arrested and placed in a correctional facility.

Operations and investigative actions continued, revealing new circumstances, including that the suspect had purchased the counterfeit banknotes from a minor residing in Vanadzor. Within the framework of the criminal case, law enforcement also searched the minor's residence, finding counterfeit banknotes of 20 and 10 thousand drams, along with a computer and a color printer, which were confiscated for further action.

Operations and investigative measures are ongoing.
