VIDEO: Scrimmage in the National Assembly Between MPs
A scuffle occurred between MPs from the 'My Step' and Prosperous Armenia factions in the National Assembly following the speech by MP Arman Babajanyan. From the podium, Babajanyan stated that the social base of the former officials consists of criminal authorities, adding that they still have a lot of work to do. He expressed hope that everyone would be united.
Before that, Babajanyan referred to the speech of Gevorg Petrosyan from the Prosperous Armenia party, who had told Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan present in the hall that it would be good to fight against others as well, apart from criminal authorities, adding, “There is a three-letter word, we should also fight against them.” At the beginning of his speech, Arman Babajanyan addressed Petrosyan’s remarks, hoping that the member of the Prosperous Armenia party would apologize.
After this speech, Babajanyan returned to his seat, after which Prosperous Armenia MP Arthur Dallakyan approached him, to which Babajanyan did not respond at all. The members of the 'My Step' faction and the Prosperous Armenia MPs did not allow Dallakyan to approach Babajanyan.
Responding to the incident, Ararat Mirzoyan stated from the podium, “MPs take turns and speak from the podium and cannot be pursued for their speeches. Anyone who does not understand these norms should resign their mandate and ‘be silent on the sidelines.’”
