VIDEO: Taxi Driver Threatened Female Passenger with Knife and Stole Money from Bag

On the night of January 9 at 2:45 AM, a report was received at the Central Police Division that a taxi driver had threatened a female passenger with a knife and stolen money from her bag on Abovyan Street in the capital. This was reported by the police's press service.

Based on the report, investigators quickly identified the driver through operational measures. The 37-year-old man, a resident of Yerevan, was located at the intersection of Vardanants and Vracian Streets and was taken into custody by the Central Police Division.

He presented police with a folding knife with an 8 cm long blade from the vehicle's interior. The knife has been confiscated for further action.

Efforts are ongoing to clarify all circumstances of the incident. An investigation is underway.
