Incident Resembling Action Film in Vayots Dzor: Man Attempts to Detonate Grenade

A dramatic incident resembling an action film occurred in Vayots Dzor province earlier today. According to Shamshyan.com, 62-year-old Gevorg Baghdasaryan, a resident of the town of Jermuk, attempted to detonate a grenade in front of entrance number 3 of building 22 on Mikoyan Street in Yeghegnadzor.

He was successfully neutralized by Aram Babayan, a resident of that building.

Several citizens at the scene, who declined to speak on camera, noted, "It's good that the police officer managed to disarm G. Baghdasaryan, risking his life; if the grenade had gone off, an explosion was inevitable." The onlookers also mentioned that G. Baghdasaryan and A. Babayan are acquaintances.

Material is being prepared by the Vayots Dzor regional investigative department regarding the incident.
