Corruption and Abuse of Power Revealed by NSS
The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia has uncovered cases of forgery of official documents, abuse of power by officials, and bribery, following extensive operational and investigative measures aimed at combating crime and corruption.
According to obtained factual data, two citizens of Armenia falsified official documents, including technical inspection receipts and permits for the operation of liquefied gas cylinders, for sale from January 2018 to October 4, 2019. They sold these documents to foreigners in the vicinity of the Road Police of Armenia's Yerevan registration and examination division for 15,000 and 5,000 AMD respectively. They were caught on October 4, 2019, during an operational measure conducted by NSS employees.
Following the revelations, a criminal case was initiated on October 21, 2019, by the investigative department of the NSS, according to relevant articles of the Armenian Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
