Attempted Murder in Kotayk Region: Shots Fired at Vehicle of 'Hayastan' Supermarket Owner's Son
On November 1, an attempted murder involving the use of firearms occurred in the Kotayk region. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.
Between 02:30 and 03:15, an unknown individual fired shots from an unidentified make and model vehicle toward a Lexus car operated by 29-year-old Paylak Hairapetyan, a resident of Yerevan, on the 48th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway.
The police and investigators determined that the shots damaged the driver's side door, the window, and the mirror. Paylak Hairapetyan was not harmed. Spent cartridges were also found at the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated based on Article 34, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (attempted murder) and Article 235, Part 1 (illegal carrying, keeping, and using firearms and ammunition).
According to G. Shamshyan, Paylak Hairapetyan is the grandson of Paylak Hairapetyan, the well-known owner of a plaster factory from the Soviet era, and the son of Hovik Hairapetyan, the owner of the well-known 'Hayastan' supermarket in Yerevan.
