Armenia to Launch Kidney, Liver, and Heart Transplant Program: Arsen Torosyan

The Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, delivered the first lecture at the professional discussion titled "Public Health Challenges and Solutions in New Armenia." This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.

During the meeting, the minister highlighted three directions for improving the healthcare sector: the development of preventive medicine, the introduction of new mechanisms for health insurance, and oncology at all levels, from early detection to treatment and palliative care.

Torosyan informed attendees about recent updates and future programs, ranging from the centralization of emergency call services to the implementation of sanitary aviation and transplantations.

“We are going to start a kidney, liver, and heart transplant program in the Republic of Armenia, from both living and deceased donors. We have nearly everything needed to implement this, including political will, and with the introduction of this program, we will save numerous lives,” said Arsen Torosyan.

Subsequently, the minister turned the discussion into a question-and-answer session, and attendees raised their concerns on various issues, particularly regarding the pricing policy of sugar tax, treatment of non-communicable diseases, vaccinations, the practice of family doctors, antibiotics, and other topics.
