US Temporarily Limits Entry for Foreign Nationals
The United States has temporarily restricted entry for foreign nationals who have visited the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Uganda, or South Sudan in the past 21 days due to an outbreak of the Ebola virus, specifically the Bundibugyo strain, in these regions. This was reported by the press service of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
"The CDC has issued an order to suspend entry into the United States for foreign citizens who have been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, or South Sudan within the 21 days prior to arrival," the publication stated.
It has been noted that, according to a decision by the Department of Homeland Security, such travelers will be directed to a Washington international airport to undergo mandatory medical examinations and fill out questionnaires. Additional screenings have been implemented as part of measures to prevent the potential spread of the disease.
