Process to Correct Errors in Cadastral Maps to Begin
During the session of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia on May 19, a package of draft laws regarding amendments to the Law on State Registration of Property Rights and the Law on Urban Development was discussed in the first reading.
As reported by the press service of the National Assembly, the necessity for adopting this legislative package is dictated by existing legal and factual issues in the field of state registration of property rights.
Nane Ghazaryan, the Deputy Head of the Cadastre Committee of Armenia, noted that a monitoring of practical issues has been conducted, and efforts have been made to find solutions to the problematic questions that have been recorded in practice. In particular, there is currently no unified and clear procedure for identifying and correcting errors found in cadastral maps and state registration data.
Such issues often lead to administrative and judicial disputes, legal uncertainty, and delays in the processes of registering property rights. The anticipated regulations will clarify the relationships related to the identification of errors made during the state registration of property rights in real estate and their lawful correction based on the existing cadastral maps.
The Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, Babken Tunyan, emphasized the importance of adopting the presented draft and ensuring clear mechanisms.
Nane Ghazaryan also responded to questions posed by the deputies, providing clarifications regarding the proposed regulations. The legislative package received a positive conclusion.
