Video: It is important to return our debt to the forest, says Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the opening ceremony of the Eco-Environmental Service's Tavush Regional Department. Welcoming those present, Pashinyan reminded that Tavush is the second region where the Eco-Environmental Service's work begins; the first was in the Syunik region. He emphasized that this process will be continuous and marks a new phase in Armenia concerning ecological awareness and environmental perception.

Pashinyan stated that during difficult times, our forest has taken care of us; now it is time for us to care for our forest, but this time with a different meaning and logic. According to the head of state, it is necessary to change our consciousness and understand that the forest and nature are invaluable riches.

“It is a different matter how we use and exploit that wealth. Today, we must understand that the preservation of the forest and its condition will bring millions and billions of drams in income to the Republic of Armenia and its people, as nature brings significant tourism flows to the Republic of Armenia and Tavush region,” he emphasized.

In this context, Pashinyan highlighted the necessity of developing infrastructure and ensuring investments: “We are building roads, creating infrastructures, but it is also vital that we indeed return our debt to the forest so that it returns more to us.”

Addressing cases of illegal logging, the Prime Minister underscored that it should be acknowledged that the forest is our great wealth, belonging to the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, and it must be treated with care and attention. More in the video.
