Details: How 46 Citizens Were Rescued from an Underground Shaft
On April 22, at 12:38 PM, the National Police’s 112 operational management center received a report that one of the medical centers in Avan had lost power, leaving employees and patients trapped in an underground shaft. This information was reported by the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
"Two firefighting units from the Yerevan municipal rescue department and the on-duty team from the fire suppression and rescue operations organization were dispatched to the scene. It was found that 46 citizens were located approximately 230 meters deep in the underground shaft. The rescuers successfully brought all 46 citizens to safety using the elevator powered by a generator," the statement said.
