Three Men Arrested for Assaulting 74 Route Bus Driver in Yerevan
Police officers from the Erebuni division have uncovered an incident of hooliganism against a bus driver and have arrested three men.
On April 8, in the afternoon, the 112 service received a call from a citizen reporting that three individuals had evicted the driver of the 74 route bus from his vehicle, assaulted him, causing a head injury, and left after dropping off the passengers.
Officers from the Erebuni division of municipal police established that on the same day, at 12:35 PM, two young men had argued inside the 74 route bus on Tigran Mets Avenue. Following a remark from the driver, they continued to argue, one of them then assaulted the driver, who subsequently evicted him from the bus.
Then, at a bus stop on Erebuni street, three men in a Nissan car blocked the bus’s path, entered, and began arguing with the driver. During this altercation, one of them threw the bus key towards the driver, causing bodily harm. After that, they called the driver out of the bus, insulted him, and physically assaulted him with their hands and feet.
Thanks to operational investigative measures, the identity of one of the hooligans, a 32-year-old resident of Smbat Zoravar Street, was established. A criminal case has been initiated by the investigative department regarding the incident. Subsequently, the identities of the other two individuals—a 29-year-old from Tsevotsyan Street and a 33-year-old from Khaghagh Doni Street—were also confirmed.
After conducting explanatory work, the three men showed up at the police station on April 8 at 9:40 PM and were arrested. The preliminary investigation is ongoing to clarify the circumstances.
