EU Mission to Strengthen Armenia's Resilience Against Hybrid Threats

Ambassadors from EU countries today approved a decision in Brussels to dispatch a new civilian mission to Armenia, paving the way for final confirmation expected at next week’s meeting of EU foreign ministers.

The proposal from the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy outlines the mission's mandate, structure, and timeline. According to this document, the mission aims to bolster Armenia's resilience against hybrid threats by providing strategic and practical advice and support to ministries and security sector agencies.

The mission is also expected to assess what is needed to develop security sector capacities in Armenia, enabling the country to more effectively detect and respond to hybrid threats in accordance with EU methodologies and standards.

It is anticipated that the new EU group will be stationed in Armenia for two years, consisting of 20-30 international staff, operating under the name "EU Partnership Mission," reported Azatutyun.
