Erdogan: We Will Do the Same in Israel as in Artsakh and Libya
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has announced that Ankara may take steps against Israel similar to those it has taken in past regional conflicts. Speaking at a party meeting, the Turkish leader emphasized the need to be strong and prepared for any actions to restrain Israel.
In his remarks, Erdogan specifically drew parallels with the situations in Artsakh and Libya, hinting that Turkey might exhibit similar military or political intervention in this case as well. He accused Israel of actions in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, labeling them as steps against humanity.
The Israeli side promptly responded to the threats coming from Ankara. Israel's Minister of Heritage, Amihai Eliyahu, called the Turkish president a "dictator" and suggested considering the possibility of severing diplomatic relations with Turkey. These statements have escalated the existing tensions between the two countries, complicating their already fraught relationship.
