Mass Deportations from Georgia: Stricter Rules for Foreigners

The latest measures undertaken by the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have resulted in the deportation of 78 foreign citizens from the country. This is reported by TASS.

According to law enforcement agencies in Georgia, among the 78 individuals deported are citizens from Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Turkey, China, as well as from India, Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, and various African countries.

These individuals were subjected to administrative liability for violating the legal grounds for their stay in Georgia, leading to the decision for their expulsion. In addition to deportation, all violators have been banned from re-entering Georgian territory for specified periods as stipulated by law.

Recently, the government has intensified its efforts against illegal migration. New legislative amendments adopted by the Georgian parliament have significantly simplified the processes for monitoring and expelling migrants. Law enforcement agencies now regularly inform the public about similar instances of foreign nationals’ removal on a monthly basis.
