We're Starting: Trump's Tough Statement on Iran
US President Donald Trump has issued a tough statement regarding the failure of nuclear negotiations with Iran and the situation in the Middle East. Trump announced that the US Navy will begin a complete blockade of the Strait of Hormuz:
“So, everything is clear. The meeting went well, and agreement was reached on most of the points, but the only crucial issue, the NUCLEAR one, remains unresolved. Effective immediately, the United States Navy – the best in the world – will commence the BLOCKADE process on any ship entering or exiting the Strait of Hormuz. At some point, we will reach the principle of ‘everyone is allowed to enter, everyone is allowed to exit,’ but Iran did not allow that to happen by simply saying, ‘There may be a mine somewhere,’ which no one knows except them. THIS IS INTERNATIONAL EXTORTION, and the leaders of countries, particularly the United States, will never allow themselves to be extorted.”
“I have also instructed our fleet to identify and stop any ship in international waters that is paying tribute to Iran. No one who pays illegal tribute will have safe passage in open waters. We will also begin to destroy the mines that the Iranians have placed in the straits. Any Iranian who fires at us or at peaceful ships will be CALLED OUT. Iran knows better than anyone how to put an end to this situation, which has already devastated their country. Their navy is no longer there, their air force is gone, and their air defense and radars are useless. Khomeini and most of their ‘leaders’ are dead, and all of this is due to their nuclear ambitions. The blockade will begin soon. Other countries will also be involved in this operation. Iran will not be allowed to profit off this illegal EXTORTION. They want money and, more importantly, they want Nuclear weapons. Furthermore, at the appropriate time, we are fully ‘READY AND ARMED,’ and our military will finish off the little part that remains of Iran.”
