Armenian Foreign Ministry Issues Statement

On April 9, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna participated in the official opening ceremony of the Estonian Republic's resident embassy in the Republic of Armenia, which took place during Minister Tsahkna's official visit to Armenia.

In his speech, Minister Mirzoyan stated: "Dear Minister, my good friend Margus, I am happy to see you once again in Yerevan on such an important occasion. It is indeed a great pleasure to join you in celebrating this significant milestone in Armenia-Estonia relations—the opening of the Estonian Republic's resident embassy in Yerevan. Of course, we all understand that this decision has not been easy, neither in terms of making the decision itself nor in advancing it through all the relevant departments of the Estonian government. Believe me, I know very well how complicated that can be.

We, too, have our special relationships with our Finance Ministry partners and all other counterparts who, of course, welcome such decisions, and setting the joke aside, this is indeed a very important event. It certainly reflects Estonia's, the Estonian government's, and your personal commitment, dear friend, to developing Armenia-Estonia relations, as well as the continued support for strengthening democratic processes in Armenia and supporting the Armenian people in their quest for freedom, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and certainly, the well-being of the nation."
