Sale Proceeds from Gagik Khachatryan's Los Angeles Mansion to be Returned to Armenia
The Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan today received a delegation led by David Allen, the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States in Armenia. The U.S. Chargé d'Affaires assessed the cooperation with the Armenian Prosecutor's Office as effective and discussed several mutually interesting topics related to legal assistance, extraditions, and other matters.
During the meeting, among other topics, the effective collaboration between the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia and the relevant U.S. authorities concerning the criminal case initiated in Armenia was addressed. This collaboration has led to the process regarding the substantial portion of the funds obtained from the sale of a luxurious mansion in Los Angeles owned by the family of former Armenian Minister of Finance Gagik Khachatryan, which will be returned to the Republic of Armenia in accordance with a decision made by a U.S. competent court. The discussion focused on the timeline and procedures for this return of assets.
